Actress Olivia Thirlby Joins The Cast For The New Judge Dredd Moive

 According to Variety, actress Olivia Thirlby has been cast in the new Judge Dredd movie. Thirlby will play the character of Judge Cassandra Anderson, a psychically powered rookie Judge who teams with Judge Joe Dredd (Karl Urban) for training. Similar to the role played by Diane Lane in the original 1995 movie which starred Sylvester Stallone.Dredd is based on a comic book series by by John Wagner and illustrated by Carlos Ezquerra. This latest big-screen incarnation tells the story about a law man who presides over a decadent and violent futuristic society and acts as judge, jury and executioner. It has been said that this movie will go back to its comic book roots. Andrew Macdonald’s DNA Films has made a deal with India-based Reliance Big Entertainment and IM Global to finance Judge Dredd, a 3D film that was scripted by Alex Garland, and will be directed by Pete Travis, best known for Vantage Point.
