Regal Offers The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience

Regal Entertainment Group, a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, today announced that tickets are on sale for The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience. The movie opens Friday, July 18 at a total of 18 Regal Entertainment Group IMAX® theatres across the country.
“The Dark Knight is a highly anticipated installment of the extremely successful Batman franchise. We expect a significant demand for advance ticket sales as fans are eager to see The Dark Knight on our massive IMAX screens,” stated Dick Westerling, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Regal Entertainment Group. In The Dark Knight, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker. The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience will feature six sequences filmed with IMAX cameras including the opening six minutes. This marks the first time ever that a major feature film has been even partially shot using IMAX cameras, marking a revolutionary integration of the two film formats. Warner Brothers’ The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience has been rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and some menace.
