Toy Fair 2008: Transformers Rolls-Out Animated Products and More
Reported by Eyehut - 02:44 PM 2008.02.17
Entertainment News International's sister site TFormers.com has been covering Transformers-related news non-stop during the 2008 Toy Fair in New York. Here's a summary of some of the cool things we saw out there broken down by toy line:
Hasbro says they're looking forward to awesome Animated figures this year, and indeed they were awesome. We saw some great figures from this toy line, which the new "Transformers: Animated" television series on Cartoon Network is based on. This line features many different size ranges sporting different features and detail. The categories, linked to the galleries, are: the spring-loaded Activators; the regular deluxe, voyager, leader and supreme assortments; the cute bumper bots; and the role-playing blaster, video game, and a power bot toy for easy of play with younger children. Also to help kids get excited for the new "Transformers: Animated" cartoon featuring well-known namesakes such as Optimus Prime, Ratchet, and Bumblebee, the Battle Begins Battle Pack with a DVD previewing the series with Optimus Prime and Megatron figures will sure do that. Transformers Crossovers This line will help many fans of non-Transformers lines such as Star Wars and Marvel get into the transforming fun. The Marvel line has recently been announced, and include staples such as Hulk and Iron Man. This line brought back many designs from the past - the 1984 past. Dubbed Generation 1, the original characters are back with newer, updated vehicles and forms, but still bear a considerable resemblance to these characters. Some newly-announced characters that will be brought back to life with these designs include Prowl, Sunstreaker, Galvatron, and more! These non-transformable figures bring back the most iconic characters from each iteration of the Transformers line to the much smaller scale. Featuring unforgettable characters such as Optimus Primal and Megatron from the Beast Wars series to Galvatron and Sunstreaker from the Generation 1 series. Along the lines of the Robot Heroes but transformable, these little guys also bring back the iconic characters of the past in small, easy-to-transform figures such as Starscream. If Transformers isn't your thing, or you want to know about other toys that were featured at Toy Fair 2008, look no further than Toy News International's Toy Fair 2008 convention central.
