Transformers: War for Cybertron GameTrailer Debut
Reported by Jay Cochran - 12:25 AM 2009.12.11
The war for Cybertron begins as the Autobots and Decepticons clash in the brand new original Transformers title!
Setting The setting for the video game, as we previously reported, is prior to the Transformers' first contact with the planet Earth. The video shows a whole bunch of Autobots being blown up by missiles from Seekers. In the trailer, Prime comes to the rescue, knocking away two missiles and more or less single-handedly saving the Autobots. Optimus Prime The game trailer, debuting at GameTrailers, shows off what we here at ENI can only define as a badass looking Optimus Prime. His design is reminiscent of the Transformers Animated Earth Mode with the trademark split window for the chest, only his chest is a lot broader and he looks like he took some steroids. Prime's vehicle mode reminds me a lot of the Transtech truck but, again, more beefed up. The is a (again, I'm sorry) badass, low-riding pick-up truck with flames coming out from the back. Like Animated, Prime brandishes an ax; however, it's a lot (and we mean a lot) bigger. Impressions Overall, we're impressed with the first impressions of Transformers: The War for Cybertron video game. This is obviously just a trailer, so it is not in-game graphics, which should be kept in mind while watching the trailer below. High Moon Studios has two games under its belt, Darkwatch and Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy which received pretty good ratings, but not stellar. The game is still in early development, so we will keep a pulse on the game at more information of the game comes out. For now, though, be sure to watch the trailer (which you probably skipped through all of this and went straight to it).
